MEET MEL WILLIAMS

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY.  I've always had a passion for flying for as far as I can remember.  I live for spreading the beautiful world of aviation and showing people how incredible it is to be in the air.  I hold a FAA Airframe & Powerplant, CFI certificate and teach spin training.  When I'm not flying, I am a B737NG Maintenance Instructor for a major airline.  Outside of aviation, I enjoy playing basketball and spending time with family and friends.

Word on the Street

The most fun you can have with your pants on! I did an aerobatic intro flight with Mel in the Decathlon. As an experienced pilot, I was very much appreciated the detailed brief, aerobatic flight ground intro, and expectation setting during the ground portion of our time together. I have always been interested in taking an aerobatic discovery flight, and Mel immediately put me at ease about what we'd be doing, what to expect, and getting me amped up for how much fun we were about to have. We did rolls, loops, spins, hammerheads, Cuban 8's, barrel rolls, and more that I'm probably forgetting. The flight went exactly as briefed, and Mel even let me take the controls to do the maneuvers I felt comfortable doing. I recommend the experience to anyone that is considering it even in the slightest - you won't regret it!
